Teaching has long been an important part of my life as a musician. Whether working with children or adults, amateurs or professionals, I am focussed on helping my students to experience ever-increasing confidence and pleasure when they sing.

I am currently teaching privately, and I welcome enquiries from potential students of all levels. Please don't hesitate to get in touch via any of the methods on the Contact page.

My approach

I see singing as a gateway to a lifetime of enriching discovery, and my aim as a

teacher is to nourish my students' enthusiasm for it as much as possible.

My teaching includes guidance in:

- Vocal technique

- Knowledge of repertoire and style

- Emotional connection; the ability to illuminate singing with true feeling and understanding.

- Confidence with the various sung languages

- Sight-reading

A broad offering

My teaching activity goes back many years. I have held posts at several excellent schools in London (most recently at Alleyn's School, Dulwich), and I have often been on the staff at well-known singing courses (Dartington Music Summer School, National Childrens' Choir of Great Britain, among others). All of my teaching is informed by my own, varied performing career (see my Biography page for more information).

With so much activity behind me, I feel able to tailor my teaching to the individual student, whatever their age or stage. Whether I am preparing students or ABRSM exams, courses, auditions or concerts, or simply helping someone sing for the sheer pleasure of it, I feel confident in my ability to present them with advice born of direct experience.

Don't hesitate to get in touch if you're even a bit interested! I look forward to meeting you.
